Raised in Michigan’s Upper Penninsula, C. Lynn Johnson now lives in Three Rivers, Michigan. She received her art training at Glen Oaks Community College in St. Joseph County, Michigan, and also studied watercolor with Joan Hector of Three Rivers.
Johnson is especially known for her beautiful, award-winning miniature paintings, 3.5″x2.5″ up to 5″x7″. However, she paints in larger sizes as well. Most of her painting is in watercolor and alcohol-ink, on paper, Yupo, and other surfaces. She also creates small works using resin.
Her paintings have been shown at the Carnegie Center for the Arts in Three Rivers, Michigan, as well as other gallery spaces and public buildings across the state. Her other pieces in acrylic, as well as cards, prints, bookmarks, outdoor decorative signs on metal, and other interesting and affordable pieces are found at local shops and at art fairs around the region.
Johnson is also a member of the South West Michigan Watercolor Society and is a charter member of the Three Rivers Artists Guild. She was the Three Rivers Artists Guild’s President, 2014 – 2016, and participates each year in the Guild’s annual Holiday Gallery in downtown Three Rivers, Michigan.
